We’re seeking to hire an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to oversee and support IT operations across multiple facilities in Ireland. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for someone with a strong technical background and a proven track record in regulated environments such as pharmaceuticals or manufacturing.
Duties:
- Take ownership of Infrastructure services across several Irish locations, ensuring consistent uptime and performance.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of IT equipment – from procurement and imaging to deployment and configuration of laptops, desktops, and networking hardware (Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWALL).
- Lead infrastructure upgrades and refresh projects, including the replacement of switches and access points in GMP-compliant environments.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to manage seamless migrations to virtual server platforms (Hyper-V/VMware), ensuring minimal service disruption.
- Implement and maintain robust backup systems (e.g., Veeam), generating regular reports for management on system health and backup integrity.
- Administer and troubleshoot systems within Active Directory, Office 365, and other endpoint management tools.
- Provide critical on-call and in-person support for key manufacturing applications such as Empower, Moda, and Trackwise.
- Manage and maintain physical IT infrastructure – including LAN/WAN setup, fibre installations, and long-range wireless configurations.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure support, ideally within regulated or manufacturing environments.
- Strong technical expertise in Microsoft ecosystems (Windows Server, Active Directory, MDT, Hyper-V) and backup tools like Veeam.
- In-depth networking knowledge, including setup and configuration of Cisco, Fortinet, and SonicWALL devices and VPNs.
- Prior experience working in GxP-compliant or validated environments.
- Solid project management skills – from planning to execution – for site rollouts and major infrastructure changes.
