IT Technical Support Engineer

Location: Cork (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to €42k p/a

Troi Search are seeking to hire a customer-focused IT Support Engineer to join our client in Cork. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations for end users and supporting a reliable IT infrastructure. Your goal will be to resolve issues efficiently, maintain system performance, and enhance user productivity across various client environments.

Duties: 

‍

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues across hardware, software, and network systems. 
• Provide friendly, effective assistance to users with technical queries, both remotely and on-site. 
• Maintain laptops, desktops, and other end-user devices to ensure optimal performance. 
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with security protocols. 
• Assist with the setup and deployment of new hardware, including laptops, tablets, smartphones, and related peripherals. 
• Carry out regular updates and preventive maintenance tasks. 
• Work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver consistent IT solutions. 
• Ensure timely resolution of issues in alignment with agreed service level agreements (SLAs).

Requirements: 

‍

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in IT support or a similar role. 
• Solid understanding of operating systems, hardware, networking, and user administration. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-centric approach. 
• Ability to troubleshoot efficiently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding user data. 
• Strong sense of responsibility and urgency in resolving issues. 
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
• Proficiency in spoken and written English. 
• Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, CCNA) are highly desirable. 
• Valid Irish driver’s licence and access to personal transport for occasional travel to client sites.
